BIOGRAPHY
One of the leading Russian specialists in costume technology. In 1993, she graduated from the production faculty of the Leningrad (St. Petersburg) State Cherkasov Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography having specialized in costume design, and in 2016 from St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, where studied history of art and fashion.In 1991-2017 she has worked at the Mariinsky Theatre: in 1991-1993 as assistant costume designer, in 1993-1995 as costume designer, in 1995-2017 as chief costume designer. She has worked on productions of Verdi’s Don Carlo, Shostakovich’s Katerina Ismailova, Prokofiev’s The Gambler (co-production with the Teatro alla Scala) and War and Peace (co-production with the Metropolitan Opera), Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov (Mariinsky Theatre production premiered at the Teatro alla Scala), Tchaikovsky’s The Enchantress (Mariinsky Theatre production together with the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon) and Mazeppa (co-production with the Metropolitan Opera), Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden, and Richard Wagner’s tetralogy Der Ring des Nibelungen.
Has worked with the stage directors Francesca Zambello, David Pountney, Andrei Konchalovsky, Lindsay Posner, and the choreographers Sergei Vikharev, Yuri Burlaka, and Kirill Simonov.
As costume designer she has worked more than ninety plays, operas and ballets in various theatres of Russia, Europe, the USA and Australia.
At the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre she has worked with Alexey Miroshnichenko on production of Ungarische Tänze (The Hungarian Dances) to the music by Brahms, Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloe, Variations on a Rococo Theme to music by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev’s The Buffoon, The Bluebird and Princess Florine to music by Adam, Shostakovich’s Hypothetically Murdered, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, Prokofiev’s Cinderella, Stravinsky’s The Firebird, and Minkus’s La Bayadère.
Tatiana Noginova teaches costume history and theatrical costume technology at the Vaganova Ballet Academy, the Repin St. Petersburg State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of The Russian Academy of Arts, and at the Scientific and Technical Center “Progress”.
