Winner of the international exhibition of artists “Your Chance” (Moscow, 2009): Grand Prix “The Best Work of the Set Designer” for the layout and sketches for the play Don Juan by Molière.

BIOGRAPHY

In 2009, Anastasia Bugaeva graduated from the staging faculty of the Moscow Art Theatre School, workshop of Oleg Sheintsis. Since 2018, she has been the head of the theatre artists’ workshop at the faculty of scenography and theatre technology of the Moscow Art Theatre School in collaboration with Alexey Kondratyev.

Author of scenography and costumes for more than thirty performances in theatres such as the Moscow Art Theatre, Theatre of Nations, Pyotr Fomenko Workshop Theater, Russian Academic Youth Theatre, Mayakovsky Theatre, Vakhtangov Theatre, Sovremennik Theatre, Central Theatre of the Russian Army in Moscow; Bryantsev Young Spectators’ Theater in St. Petersburg, Red Torch Theatre in Novosibirsk, Volkov Theatre in Yaroslavl, Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Vladikavkaz Opera and Ballet Theatre, Sverdlovsk Musical Comedy Theatre in Yekaterinburg, National Theatre in Târgu Mureș (Romania), Northeastern Theater in Boston (USA), etc.

Anastasia Bugaeva worked with such directors as Vladimir Mirzoev, Viktor Ryzhakov, Vladimir Petrov, Alexander Kuzin, Alla Sigalova, Marina Brusnikina, Alexey Frandetti, Gleb Cherepanov, Tufan Imamutdinov, Alexander Khukhlin, Nikita Kobelev, Kirill Vytoptov, Evgeny Malenchev.

She lectures on scenography at the Northeastern University-College of Arts, Media and Design and Berklee College of Music in Boston. Participant of theatrical decorative art exhibitions and festivals in Russia and abroad. Some of the works by Anastasia Bugaeva are included in the collection of the Bakhrushin Theatre Museum (Moscow).
